1. Scope of Services and Job Limitations

  • All work is strictly limited to minor works and small jobs not exceeding $3,300 in total value (including materials and labour).
  • Services include general repairs, furniture assembly, minor painting, property maintenance, and small home improvements.
  • No electrical, plumbing, gas fitting, or any other licensed trade work will be performed
  • Jobs requiring council permits or professional certification are not undertaken

2. Licensing Status

I am not professionally licensed in any trade or specialty. This means:

  • I do not hold any trade licenses or professional certifications
  • I cannot and will not perform any work that legally requires a license
  • I operate within the legal framework for unlicensed handyman services in Queensland
  • Customers requiring licensed work will be referred to appropriate professionals

3. High Value or Professionally Licensed Jobs

For jobs exceeding $3,300 or licensed trade work of any value:

  • I can facilitate a connection with an independent third-party contractor
  • The third party will contract directly with you for the work
  • They will not be my subcontractor or employee
  • All terms, payments, and warranties will be between you and the third party
  • By law I cannot accept liability for work performed by third parties
  • However, I can remain in contact, supervise the work, and act as your agent where appropriate

4. Quotes and Estimates

  • Quotes are provided based on the information supplied and visual inspection where applicable
  • Quotes are estimates only and may be adjusted if:
    • The scope of work changes
    • Hidden or concealed issues are discovered
    • Additional work is requested
    • Material costs change significantly
  • Written quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise specified
  • Verbal estimates are indicative only and subject to written confirmation

5. Scheduling and Availability

  • Service is provided on a part-time basis
  • Scheduling is subject to availability
  • I aim to provide prompt service but cannot guarantee specific timeframes
  • 24/7 quote line does not mean 24/7 work availability
  • Cancellations require 24 hours notice where possible

6. Payment Terms

  • Payment is due on completion of work unless otherwise agreed
  • Accepted payment methods will be confirmed when booking
  • Receipts are provided for all completed work

7. Materials and Supplies

  • Materials can be supplied by the customer or sourced by me
  • If I source materials, costs will be added to the quote with your approval
  • Material receipts will be provided
  • Manufacturer warranties apply to all materials
  • I am not responsible for defects in customer-supplied materials

8. Workmanship and Warranties

  • I provide a reasonable workmanship guarantee for work performed
  • The guarantee period varies by job type and will be specified
  • Warranties do not cover:
    • Normal wear and tear
    • Misuse or neglect
    • Pre-existing conditions
    • Work modified by others
  • Any issues should be reported promptly for assessment

9. Liability and Insurance

  • Liability is limited to the extent permitted by law
  • I maintain appropriate insurance for the services provided
  • Liability does not extend to:
    • Pre-existing damage or conditions
    • Concealed or hidden defects
    • Consequential or indirect losses
    • Issues arising from customer-supplied materials
  • Maximum liability is limited to the value of the work performed

10. Consumer Rights

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law remain unaffected. This includes:

  • Guarantees that services will be provided with due care and skill
  • Guarantees that services will be fit for purpose
  • Rights to remedies for major and minor failures
  • Protection against misleading or deceptive conduct

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer rights that cannot be excluded under law.

11. Photos and Documentation

  • With your consent, I may take before/after photos of work
  • Photos are used for:
    • Quoting and job documentation
    • Record keeping
    • Quality assurance
  • Photos will not be used for marketing without separate permission
  • Personal or identifying information will be kept confidential
